Christmas morning, it couldn't have been any later than 6AM. My mom was not a morning person. I sat on the stairs with my older brother and sister and we waited and waited until Dad agreed to go wake up my mom so we could see what Santa brought.
A lot of us have similar stories-where Christmas Eve and Christmas morning were the highlight of our year. The excitement was unmatched, Santa was magic and our parents were stealthy and sneaky. All of this reminiscing is really important for me this time of year so I can remember how lucky I am -how lucky I was then- to have a Christmas that was stress free, and to know that Santa was definitely going to come.
Here at the Shoppes of Crestwood, along with Crestwood Pharmacy, Crestwood Coffee, and Seasick Records, we want to create that same feeling for a few families that may not have that same amount of surety this season. So we partnered with a dear friend that works for Children's Hospital here in Birmingham to sponsor FIVE families that have a child receiving care at Children's. Click HERE for event details and photos of their "Wish Lists" and some of these items, especially for the parents, are really practical necessities. We are also more than happy to accept monetary donations and do the shopping for you.
To really set off the season of giving, we are helping host a holiday open house at the Shoppes of Crestwood from 5-9 on December 9th. You can bring your donations then and stay for music by the Crestwood Community Band, cider, food, treats, special deals, and community. Thanks for your continued support and for your generosity!
